Two Tone Purple Twisted Leaf Peyote Earrings

Updated: Jun 26

This was the very first style of beaded earring that I learned how to make. In fact it was a picture of this style of earring that made me want to learn how to do beadwork at all! The first ones that I made were definitely not this nice but I have improved quite a bit since then!

I tend to struggle in picking colors and designs for this style because the way they work up is very different to how they end up looking as far as physical shape goes. But someone made a blank pattern template for them that makes it a lot easier, it is still a very solid challenge for me. That being said I absolutely love how these ones turned out!

I don't use a lot of purple in my work, except these twisted leaf earrings. For some reason they are almost always purple. I don't know why and I didn't even notice it until I just laid them all out today. I don't know, they just look amazing with purple and gold! I also like the mix of shiny and matte beads in this particular design. I think the lighter color purple had a risk of looking dull, but next to the shiny ones they just make for a really nice contrast.

These are available on my Etsy here!
