Peanut Wood Necklace

I don't usually use wood in my pieces. I stick to stone mostly, occasionally acrylic but that is very rare as I prefer to use real products. This piece of peanut wood just looked so cool to me. It seemed like a piece of turritella agate, but with its own unique flair. So pretty I had to get it. I think it is finished with some kind of resin or polish. I am not sure and the vendor didn't have a good answer for me, but it has some kind of shiny coating. It is possible that that is just the polished effect but I would expect wood to be a bit more porous feeling. Who knows. I love the cabochon and I love the overall piece!
I did a pretty simple bezel for this cab, but that is because the pattern in the centerpiece is so pretty I really didn't want to take away from it as the center of attention. I am not fully sold on the purple ribbon that I put it in, I wish it was cream instead but the purple is definitely the best option that I had. I overall am really happy with this little piece. It is quite dainty, and for a fully brown piece very feminine. I love it.
