Esmerelda the Dragon

When Esmerelda first hatched the first thing she saw wasn't her parents. A frilled lizard had scrambled into her nest instead! Of course, to the horror of her parents Esmerelda imprinted upon the lizard. To this day she keeps her frills and wings spread out and considers herself to be a lizard not a dragon. Correct her at your own risk!
I know yesterday I said you were going to get to see another fish post today but bear with me. I just finished Esemerelda and I had to share her! This dragon came about because a lovely couple came into my store and saw Asmodeus (He is unfinished so y'all haven't seen him yet) and decided that they needed to have one of their own! There then ensued a debate about what colors dragons can even be between the two of them. The wife was of the opinion that its a dragon and it can be any color, so she wanted purple which was her favorite color. He was of the opinion that dragons are green. This led to my favorite quote from him. "Whenever you see a dragon flying around they are always green!" So I don't know where he lives but I want to go there and see the dragons flying around.
Ultimately they decided on a green dragon with dark purple wings, but she asked if I could make there be as much purple on there as I could hence why her wings and frills flare so much! I also added a few extra rows on her back spikes so they stand a bit taller and add just a touch more purple too.
I've loosely mentioned and tossed around the idea that I want to be a vendor at my local Ren Fair next year and to that end I want 5 of these style dragons (I call them Lionel style dragons). The only problem is that they take about a week to make. So while it is so cool and exciting to get custom orders like this and I will always say yes, it also makes it much harder for me to build up my supply for a ren fair. But, this is a great problem to have! Esmerelda is going to her new home this Saturday so I only get a few days to bask in her glory. My favorite thing about her is definitely how her eye basically glows out of the green!
