Dyed Jasper Trapezoids Part 3

I really had fun with these. I think they are super simple and cute. Since they aren't a three dimensional design, they are even lighter than most of my earrings! (Which are never all that heavy anyway.) I loved making this design so much that I actually made a series of four of them.

I wanted to make a gradient in at least one of these pieces. I think that there is nothing more beautiful than a gradient done right. That being said, I think it is incredibly difficult to do a gradient right. I actually think that this gradient came out perfectly! I think the wine color was the perfect transition between the two brighter colors and it is just amazing overall. I also love the way the visual impact of the shape changed with the gold across the bottom. Instead of looking like a trapezoid like the others it instead takes on a much more unique arrow shape. Even though the construction is identical! I think this one was my favorite out of the series!

Believe it or not I actually made these using peyote stitch instead of brick. Normally flat designs are brick stitch so it was really exciting for me to be able to find one that was made with peyote since I do prefer it! I also thought that the dyed jasper purple beads fit really well with the many purples I have so I was able to make each of the four in the series feel really different and really coherent!

At the end of the series I would love to hear which is your favorite!
