These were super fun to make, and they are very small. I made the gold one first and the silver one second. Would you believe me if I told you they both use the exact same blues? I don't pretend to understand color theory, but there are two factors that make the golden pair look more purple than blue. Firstly, I used black thread instead of white, like I did in the silver. And secondly, the gold itself. The second point is where I get lost.
I recognize that putting one color next to another one makes the first look different but the actual specifics of the process is witchcraft to me. Maybe someday I will figure it out and my art will improve dramatically. Or maybe it will never make sense and it will always be a guessing game as to how things will come out. I am ok with either option. I like picking things on a whim and I kind of like seeing how they are turning out as I go. I very rarely go into a project with a completely clear image of what I am going for ahead of time. So when they come out a little weird or different that is perfectly fine.
Which is your favorite pair?
