This is the first pair in this style that doesn't use recycled quartz beads. All of the other ones prior to this used beads that were recycled from a bracelet of my mother's that she broke. I finally used up all of those beads and graduated to beads that I bought at the most recent gem and mineral show that I attended. They are a little bit cloudier than the others. I don't know if that is the right word or if that word has a meaning to quartz that I don't know but I am not sure how else to describe it. They aren't quite as shiney, and they feel more like stone than perfectly polished beads. To be honest I don't know which style I like better.
Quartz as a stone is very diverse, likely due to the fact that there are so many varieties of quartz, and perhaps because it can be found alongside so many other stones. Most broadly it is considered an enhancing stone, it amplifies whatever vibrations you infuse it with. This means it is a great stone if you have something that you wish to manifest. It is often placed into stones, wands, and on key energy points. Due to the amplifying properties anyone who keeps quartz around them should cleanse it frequently to clean out all the negative vibrations.
This style of earring is still super fun to make. They don't take very long, and they are very satisfying to watch take shape. They are my absolutely most popular style and I don't ever expect that to change!
