Ocean Jasper Ornate Pendant Necklace

Ocean Jasper can also be called Atlantis stone. Sadly, the pieces that I have are on the green end of the spectrum and not the blue end. I still think they are beautiful. It symbolizes renewal, strength, and harmony. Many people wear it as a necklace to utilize its harmonizing properties to aid with clear and balanced communication.

I originally made this bezel setting for a different Cabochon. I really wanted to make it fit because I thought it would be gorgeous. Sadly I just couldn't make the sizing work out. So, I tested out all of my other cabs and I found this Ocean Jasper cab that fit it perfectly. I really love how it came out. It might be the most ornate piece that I have ever made. I don't usually have any good way to add so much ornamentation around the edges of the bezel and I am so happy with how it came out!

I tried to find a good green bead to use in the setting to tie in with the greener tones of the stone, but all of the greens that I have are simply too bright. I am really happy with the brown tones too! I don't use brown all that often but this is the second piece in a row that I have made with this color schema so maybe my tastes are changing? I also learned how to make a new kind of beaded bail. I like this one, it isn't as dramatic as the triangular one, but honestly I think the subtlety in this piece lets the complexity of the bezel setting really shine!
