I will try to describe some of the metaphysical properties of jasper but keep in mind this is heavily dyed jasper so it is difficult if not impossible to tell what kind of jasper it is. But in general jasper is considered a nurturing stone, known for its ability to ground and stabilize its bearer by providing comfort and security. It is thought that this nurturing/comforting property is the reason that Ancient Egyptians included it so frequently in burial procedures, often alongside inscriptions of the book of the dead. Perhaps believing it would help provide security on the journey through the afterlife.
This pair is giving chiefs. Which is convenient because I am in Chiefs country around here. That being said I am actually not the biggest fan of this pair. I didn't love the interplay between the gold and the red. I wish I had done another row of red around the edges. But that might have been too much red, and then the Jasper would have just gotten lost. Overall I do think they came out nice and I am glad I tried this particular color combination and pattern, but I don't think I would do it again. I learn something from every single piece I make and I learned a lot making these ones!
