There is a woman in my area who has a real loom (2 actually) and she offered to teach me how to weave. Obviously I took her up on this amazing offer and this was one of the first scarves I ever made with her. I still have a lot to learn as you can tell, my warp (the long pieces of yarn stretched tightly that you weave around) was far too lightweight and I didn't tighten the weft (the yarn that you take back and forth across the project) down enough so this scarf worked up to be rather thin and gappy and no where near as soft as I was hoping. But I learned a lot in the process!
