First Half of a Commission

On July 12th I helped out at a charity tribute concert hosted by my family. At the event two little girls came up with their mom and asked if I could make some custom plushies for them! I love getting commissions, especially when little kids are just so excited. One of the girls wanted a Ronaldo-sized Lionel-style dragon, which I charge $50 for since they take me about a week to make. Reasonably the mom asked her if she was really sure that is what she wanted or if she would consider anything else. After a moment's consideration the little girl said she would love a spikey dinosaur.
A few questions and some desperate google searching I figured out she wanted a stegosaurus! I hadn't actually made one before so I only quoted them $5 since I knew I would need to find a pattern and I had no clue what all would go into it and I really just wanted to make something for the girl since she had so much enthusiasm. Plus I also wanted to reward her in my own way for being able to adjust for her mom. Her mother insisted that I charge at least $10 and wouldn't let me accept less so once again I kind of love this family.
Turns out the mom was right. If I made one of these for my shop I would probably charge $10. But I still would have been super happy to let them have it for $5. I just finished it on July 16th. They are going to wait for me to send it to them until I finish what the other little girl wanted. I am going out of town for the second half of this week so I think I will tackle that next week. But I plan to get it done soon.
I really enjoyed this pattern and will likely make more of these in the future! Next time I get onto a dino kick!
