I made this blanket back in High school using Lion brand Scarfie (for a period of time this was my favorite yarn because of the quantity and gradient) I believe it used 6-8 skeins but cannot remember for sure. There was no pattern I just did 1 dc and then 2 chain to create the open weave. It was worked in the round with 3dc in each corner to keep it rectangular. It is super warm and way bigger than it needed to be but I have used it in my dorm room for all 3 years I have been at college.
