I made these two when some friends of mine got married. The paintings are hand painted watercolors by my grandmother. When she doesn't like her art she cuts it up and I usually take the scraps to make things with. Both of these pieces were part of a pond and make a beautiful pair I think. I inlaid the paintings so that they lie flush with the cover. The case-bound book (closed spine) I made for her and it has blank papers for her to fill with whatever comes to her mind. The Coptic bound book was for him and is filled with acid-free sketch paper since he is an artist. I added leather covers to the corners of his book so that they can be a bit sturdier.
