I made one of these a few years ago (unfortunately I gave it away without ever taking a photo of it). It took me 2 days straight of crocheting but it was gorgeous and perfect. Mine was all black with purple wings nad accents. I can't remember but the belly may have been purple as well.
The pattern is clearly written and for what it is relatively simple. I would say you need to be familiar with crochet , this is not a beginner pattern unless you are a very ambitious beginner.
